Registered Mail Style Patent: Local Positioning System / LPS games
Global Positioning System is a great system, but due to military concerns it is not precise to the centimeter.
For systems where you might want to have a robo mow your grass, plant and maintain a garden, automatically maintain your gutters, collect the mail from the mail box automatically or out door augmented reality games involving precise position of your actual person, you need more precision. So I invented Local Positioning System by Optics
The way this system works is basic hardware:
1) A flying drone.
2) Arduino or other drone robotics controller to interpret code.
3) A downward facing camera with optical recognition software.
4) A tethered attachment to flyin drone underneath it to pick up and drop (possibly an electro magnet for alignment of grasper and mechanical lock once grasped).
5) Colored sphereish pylons the drone can pick up/drop and identify with optical recogniton.
Peparatory Step 1) Program the drone to identify the pylon
You do this by using optical color recognition to position the drone. One solid color on another solid color background is easy for modern computer optics to identify.
You will have a large circle now in memory. You can use the position of this circle to thrust the done left or right, forward or back to position drone over the pylon.
The radius of the circle will give the drone an idea of the elevation height of the drone. Locally to this pylon, the drone already has some local positioning system awareness.
Peparatory Step 2) Program the drone to grasp the pylon
You will do this by:
2a) Positon drone over pylon by the Phase 1 way of knowing position by centering the pylon in the middle of the frame of camera.
2b) Drop the drone’s altitude where the circle is the expected radius of an extracted lift is able
2c) Turn on temporary electro magnet to dock or other sensors, docking handshakes could get complicated.
2d) Once docked, engage a mechcnical lock as to not waste energy in electro magnet and also to have more strength in hold.
Perparatory Step 3) Once a pylon is grasped you can move it.
3a) gain a little altutude
3b) Moving a pylon is done by thrusting left right,forward or back for x milliseconds
Okay now you’re ready to make Optics LPS by Optocs or O-LPS, or OLPS now, or LPS since there is no real other accepted system that does LPS well for now.
Phase 1) Give the drone it’s tools.
Set down 3 pylons of different colors that contrast with the ground. Set them ground by hand somewhat near each other so the drone sees all three when picking up one.
Phase 2) Guestimation setup of a triangle.
The drone picks up one, thrusts a set time forward and a set time right.
Phase 3) Evaluation
The drone drops the pylon, flies up in the sky and examines it’s work. It now has some preliminary the data of how far it travels per the set time.
Phase 4) Attempt to form a more perfect triangle.
With time, the drone will go down and pick each pylon and reposition it until it has a very solid looking Equlilatoral Triangle. Each time it thrusts for X milliseconds, it tracks how far it goes & collects improving and improving calibration data about its self. Used long enough it will know how much distance in meteres it travels if thrusting for X milliseconds. This data helps the drone fly. This equilatoral triangle is the core basis from building an OLPS field.
Phase 5) Building outward with more calibration pylons.
The drone then takes pylons from a resevoir using the equaliatoral triangle as the core. It places each pylon X meteres from the triangle in a square or triangle design. Your OLPS field is now done and you can use it.
How to use:
Video game tag: The drone stays flying up in the sky looking down. The user, say a player of a game might wear another color that contrasts. The drone knows the position of the pylons & their relative size by hard coding. So the drone knows the distance between the pylons and even extending out of pylons somewhat. If the player is playing tag with virtual enemies in game, the OLPS drone will be able to know if the player overlaps with the enemy by position. The player will know the position of the enemies by seeing them in the head set and trying to run away. You could play tag like this, or a virtual Pacman(tm).
Gardening:
Planting:
1) You could have a drone attachment mow the grass down to the roots or run a ground based robotic plow guided by OLPS prepare the earth so less competing weeds for crops.
2) You could plant a garden since you know the boundaries of the garden and got precision down to the centimeter to poke a hole in the soil with a tethered stick attachment, and then deposit seed.
3) Later the drone could stand idle each day, recharging and come out if weather permits, gather water and drop it in each hole.
4) A much later complex version could optically identify weeds from the budding plants being made to deweed them. These later complex drones who can identify plant leaves by type could fly around your permiter of your house(by defined in OLPS) and eliminate all your poison ivy.
You could sell automatic gardners then where you sell a drone, pylons, bins and seeds. The home gardner would just put spacing pylons on the outside of their gardens.
Mowing grass:
1) Similiar to 1 of Planting. Once you identify your permiter, the drone makes a map of your property.
2) In an editor, you can block off the parts you do not want mowed.
3) Whether a drone or robotic lawnmower, it uses this info to mow your grass auto with efficent algorithms that path and learn.
One challenge with a mower would be safety, but the bigger challenge of staying in the yard and off obsticles is solved with OLPS.
VIDEO GAME FOOTBALL:
The drone makes a standard 100 yard field that you scoped out is flat and without obsticles… It doesn’t need lines. The drone drops pylons. You or it replaces them with circle markers you don’t trip on or possibly ecofriendly color spray. Now it knows your positon on 100 yard field. Put a vr helmet and you can see 21 other players, 10 your side 11 their side. Add a gyroscope to know which way you face, and the standard vr dongles can see how well you throw. Suddenly you’re a quarterback in a football game outdoors with virtual players. WOW!
There’s so many other uses to Optical Local Positioning System. I’m glad I can Registered Mail Style Patent now or I wouldn’t be sharing my many ideas with the world. I have had so many multi million/billion ideas but now idea how to protect them since the patent system does the opposite of it’s intent to help the small guys…Instead the patent system rejects small guy’s patents we can barely afford, and allows big players to collect patents on things everyone already knows to keep out small competiton. The system is corrupt, but I found a way by the old registered mail system that I can share my ideas with corporate interests and university researchers.
Video Game DOOM:
Slow enemies you need to run around shooting while you jogged.
Fast ones you need to shoot as a skill shot fast or they get you.
Med, half and half.
ranged, shoot and take cover.
Flying, they dive bomb harass you, pay attention in the air by looking around.
