Has anyone ever made a metal planet 2 billion miles in diameter taking up the orbits between Jupiter and Neptune? It has no sun inside so it ain’t a Dyson sphere. With an external shell and hollow inside, it may not collapse to gravity. There’d be like farms and jungle on the top, animals leading their lives, but then starfighters make their way through the openings and fight inside the hollow planet. Sometimes a missile goes off course, hits the inside surface and detonates enough just to cause a shockwave big enough to launch unsuspecting cows 30 feet up into the air.

Heck, I bet we could construct planets like this… We could make tons more farm land, we’d just have to find place in the Solar system to construct a planet… But then it’d get really trippy when we try and refactor the solar system, deleting, adding, trying to do binary planet orbits and quad planet orbits… Man I don’t remember anyone ever talking about changing the planetary structure of the solar system, just boring terraforming.
It makes you wonder: Assuming time of construction is on the scale of even hundreds of thousands of years: Like how do you maximize surface area of planets?
